New birthday, new spin around the sun.
I feel there is a lot in me that has changed since my last birthday. I have also had a bunch of new experiences that I never imagined I’d have.
This year has been round. Not exempt from challenges and some sprinkles of pain, but that’s what makes us human. I won’t expect every moment of my life to be sunshine and rainbows.

There has been lots of learning. I have been mentally exhausted more times than I can count, and every ounce of myself has been challenged to act in the best way I deem coherent. I haven’t always been able to follow through, but definitely more often than in previous years.
I had the blessing of celebrating with my friends and my wife last Saturday, and it was a very nice celebration. Not everyone I invited could attend, but the ones who did were great company, and I really enjoyed catching up with every one of them.
Life has this way of teaching us through experiences. It’s not like school, where you learn the theory first and then put it into practice. In life, you just go through a trial by fire. That’s how you learn.
That’s how I’ve learned. Life blessed me with a smart, beautiful, and very wise wife who is able to support me at my worst, challenge me at my best, and help me fill my days with love and patience. Life blessed me with two little guys who are my mirror — some would say maybe too much — and who have filled my days with unconditional love, fun, discovery, patience, and understanding.
Life has blessed me with family who support us, like a solid foundation: parents, siblings, cousins, nephews, aunts, and uncles. All of them are part of making our life better and helping us in the task of raising our kids in the best way possible.
Finally, life has blessed me with friends everywhere. Friends I can talk with as if no time had passed, friends I can share my stuff with, knowing that I won’t be judged. Friends who are going through the same stuff I’m going through, so we can commiserate together.
Life is getting better every time. And I think at some point I always knew it; I just chose not to see it.
Now I do, and I do thank life for life itself.
This week there won’t be a Paid Companion because I’ll be celebrating, but I would love to invite you to reflect on the beauty life has brought into your life. Because even in the dark, there is a bit of light.
I wish every single one of you reading this peace, and with that, happiness. Peace can be found inside every one of us. We just need to surround ourselves with the right people.
I hope you have a wonderful week!
